These two questions were asked of my on Twitter, so I’ll answer them here.
ButtercupSaiyan: Vinyl Scratch, Nightmare Moon, and all those cool brony-marketed toys are slated to be released at Toys ‘R Us in the fall of this year. Right now everyone is preparing for the royal wedding, which will be a large merchandising event. But once these brony toys are making they’re way, you’ll hear it from me.
Trabadja Bonno: Celestia’s toys are pink because the toys are marketed to young girls. Stores like Walmart and Toys ‘R Us think girls (and their parents) will want to buy pink ponies instead of white ponies. And what little girls wouldn’t want a pink pony princess? Though TRU is going to release a white electronic Celestia in the fall, along with the other toys I mentioned above.
About Applejack, she’s actually not as popular as the other ponies, and that’s not just a country issue. Pinkie Pie was one of the core 7 characters for G3, and she’s one of the “poster ponies” for G4. Pink ponies sell better, the theory goes, so that’s why we have a Pinkie Pie RC Car, Pinkie Pie toothbrush, plush Pinkie Pie, Pinkie Pie trainset….Twilight Sparkle is the other poster pony for G4, so that’s why you see a good amount of her, too.
There are Applejack playful ponies, blindbag ponies, a fashion style Applejack, Applejack’s barn play set, Applejack’s truck play set, and Applejack McDonald’s ponies 2011, 2012 and Latin America ponies. If you can’t find any of those in stores, you can try via online retailers. I hope you manage to find some of her, she’s one of two characters that Hasbro retained the rights for from G1 (the other one was Spike!).
